Danielle - Owner

Hi, I am Danielle. I come from a Nursing background and now run the buisness alongside studying for horticultural - qualifications - because I clearly like to stay busy. I love sharing plant joy through terrarium workshps, the plant hospital and the kids Grow club, and I believe good care (for people and plants) should always come with kindness, curiosity and a smile.

Rob

Danielle - Owner

Rob also comes from a Nursing background and holds horticultural qualifications, so you're in very safe (and very green) hands. He brings upbeat tunes, sometimes cake and a smooth Sunday vibe, along with his wealth of knowledge - always happy to share tips and advice, and a bit of good energy around the shop!

Millie

Danielle - Owner

Millie

Millie is our local sixth former, bringing creativity, fresh ideas, and a youthful spark to the team. Always enthusiastic and hands-on, she adds a lovely energy to the shop on a Saturday and isn't afraid to think a little differently. Her knowledge is growing and she is able to give good plant care advice.

Luke

Danielle - Owner

Millie

Luke is our very helpful (and very tall) Saturday hard worker. He's building a strong knowledge and experience with houseplants, alongside a keen interest and ability in photography - taking great micro shots and bringing a sharp eye for the displays. If something looks especially good on a Saturday chances are Luke had a hand in it.

Poppy

Poppy is the newest member of the team and will be growing in the shop on a Thursday each week, giving Danielle time to study and do home visits! Poppy also works locally on a small railway if you can't think where you recognise that smiling face!

Poppy has some training in interior design so will be very helpful for creating a vision for your home jungle!

Hugo

Poppy

Hugo works afternoons in the shop, he mainly checks the water levels and the quality controls the dog treats. He can also be seen out of hours as vehicle security!

Plant Care...keep it simple

Plants don’t follow a schedule—and neither should you.

🌿 Check regularly, don’t water regularly
Every home is different, so your plant won’t need care on a set routine.

Before watering, always check:
👉 Is it dry? Have you dipsticked it?

🌿 Think about the basics
Light • Water • Soil • Airflow • Temperature

Give your plant what it needs, when it needs it.

💧 Watering tips

Bottom watering encourages strong root growth
Keeping the top soil dry helps stop fungus gnats reproducing
Rainwater is always best if you can use it

No apps, no strict rules—just a bit of attention and common sense 🌿

Greener George Street!

The Plant Pantry is proud to be part of this group of independent businesses on George Street, Saffron Walden, working together to make our street greener, cooler and more welcoming.

Our aim is to introduce more planting, small trees and seating, creating an attractive route into town from Swan Meadow and encourage more people to discover this lovely part of Saffron Walden town.

Adding greenery will also bring real environmental benefits — providing shade, helping to reduce summer heat, improving air quality, supporting biodiversity and helping absorb carbon emissions in what is currently a very hard, built-up streetscape.

We’ll be seeking support from local organisations and funding bodies too, but this GoFundMe gives our community a chance to get behind the project and help us bring George Street to life, we also appreciate any contributions from our customers.

Every contribution, however small, will help us make a visible difference and see our ambition come to life. Thank you.

Plants are living things and their health depends on their environment. We can’t guarantee their condition if they’re not kept in suitable conditions.

Refunds & Returns
We do not offer refunds, returns, or replacements on plants once they have left the shop, unless there is a proven fault at the point of sale.

Workshops
Workshop bookings cannot be moved with less than 7 days’ notice.
